Nurture Your Neighbourhood
projects

Helping communities improve their surroundings by improving green spaces or providing additional facilities like benches and play areas.

the project reviewed ‘How Fairhive ask for, use and record resident feedback’. Five residents sat on the Task and Finish group assessing performance; they suggested seven recommendations for improvement, of which nearly 50% have been completed and implemented.

Number of
child places on Summer Fun

116

We restarted our Summer fun activities gently for the first year post-covid and added another day out in October half term. The Reconnect Event was a success and very well attended with 200 additional places, where everyone had great fun as well as being able to engage in person with our residents.

Number of resident training hours

We delivered training in Scam Awareness, Everyday First Aid and Paediatric First Aid. We also delivered a training day to our volunteers and our initiative of Boost Your Potential which is a programme to support residents into employment. Resident Forum volunteers also attended residents’ panels training provided by Tpas (tenant engagement experts) and Housing Quality Network.

Children on Tuition Plus

Tuition Plus continues to receive excellent feedback from students, parents and teachers. We were so pleased that in September 2022, we achieved six 11+ passes for our Tuition Plus pupils which is the most ever.

How we’re making Fairhive a great landlord!

We’re working hard with our resident volunteers making sure they feel valued and listened to, by working with TPAS (resident engagement specialists) we’re looking to raise the profile of our Resident Forum group to ensure we are doing everything we can to listen, involve and empower our residents.

We’re upskilling employees, so everyone understands resident voice and what it means to empower our residents; we will than identify a resident voice/engagement champion in each team.

How we’re supporting our residents and local communities

We have a number of programmes available to develop and look after local communities for example our Nurture your Neighbourhood projects which has recently been looking at creating a community garden where residents come to socialise, get advice on their gardens and support each other. We also have the environmental and safety fund which aims to provide funding to improve amenities such as parking or lighting.
